Letter: DeLay, Grand County Model Railroad Club

To Grand County Residents, Visitors and their Children

2015 was the 7th year that the Grand County Model Railroad Club has had a Christmas Model Train layout. It was the best year yet with 1,370 visitors of all ages and $1,500 donated during the display. As in past years, it would not have been possible without the many volunteers and businesses that help make it possible. Volunteers helped with set up, operation during the open house hours, and also the tear-down and clean-up.

The Club would like to thank the following volunteers with their help on the display and to the Club; Wally Baird, Jack Bakken, Dwayne Beckley and sons Barret and Duke, Kevin Chavez, Frank, Ethan & William DeLay, Chris & Leslie Felts, John & Katelyn Foley, Paul Gerhart, Aldo Giron, Chuck & Barbara Houck, Gary Key, Jim Klugg, Tim Mann, Dave & Kathy Naples, Tai Pratt, Amanda, Adam & Ernesto Rosenfried, Dennis Rust, Shane Selby, Kemo Sullivan, Irving Torres, Mark Young, and Jim Yust.

The Club would also like to thank the following business and organizations for their support: Ace Hardware, Alpine Lumber, Caboose Hobbies – Denver, Chem Dry Carpet Service, Granby Recreation Department, Grand Mountain Bank, Recreation Open Space and Housing Foundation and The Trash Company.

Special thanks go to the Town of Granby for the use of their building as well as their continued support over the years. And to Lisa Atencio for her patience, as her office was right next to the train layout.

In the coming months, the club is moving ahead with restoration of the caboose and other improvements to the museum site. Volunteers will be needed for that work as well. Please watch for our next announcement if you are interested in helping and being part of this exciting project.

Thank you again,

Frank DeLay
