Rendezvous Foundation touts success of Winter Park Wipeout
April 22, 2014
The Rendezvous Foundation, a charitable enterprise funded from sales of resort homes and properties at master-planned Rendezvous in Winter Park, is marking the success of the second annual Winter Park Wipeout.
The event attracted a record crowd of 810 participants late last month, raising proceeds for Grand County Rotary Club and for Project Sanctuary, a program that stages mountain retreats for returning veterans and their families.
The annual Winter Park Wipeout draws families for a day of outdoor races along a 2.5-hour-long open-challenge course, at a time of year when the snow cover in Grand County is often at its best, according to Dana Keller, vice president for sales and marketing at Koelbel and Company, Rendezvous' developer. The day's races are followed up by after-parties held at local Winter Park and Fraser restaurants and taverns.
"Project Sanctuary is exactly the kind of imaginative program that we like to support," Keller added. "Colorado has large communities of veterans, and many require extraordinary support when being reunited with their families after the challenges of service overseas."
Other sponsors included Grand Adventures, Winter Park Resort, Outside Television, and area restaurants and breweries.
