Second Hand Grand moving to Fraser

An established thrift store in its ninth year of business is moving to Fraser.

Second Hand Grand of Granby is now located behind the Fraser Post Office on 360 Park Avenue.

Owners Bruce Schafer and Mary Hemme along with daughters Janey and Libby “have run a business which promotes re-use and recycle while making good, used merchandise available to Grand County,” Hemme said.

The reason for the move, she said, is to engage in the opportunity for growth in the Fraser area.

The thrift store originally was located in Tabernash, then moved to Granby, and is now returning to the Fraser Valley. Second-Hand Grand accepts donations of furniture, appliances, household goods, sporting goods, clothing, shoes, decorative items and books. For items such as furniture and major appliances, the store provides pick-up services from Granby, Grand Lake, and Hot Sulphur Springs.

“We feel that our business fills a great environmental need in these times of necessary conservation,” Hemme said. To contact Second Hand Grand, call 970-726-4722 or 531-8551.
