Shots fired at Granby-area King Mountain Ranch, police still in pursuit of suspect

Noon, Thursday, Sept. 11, GRANBY — Sheriff's Deputies returned the area to continue the investigation on Thursday, though had not yet developed any solid leads as to who the suspect is by press time.
3:22 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, GRANBY — A shooting occurred at King Mountain Ranch, late Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, at about 11 miles up Highway 125 from Highway 40.
An unidentified shooter took a shot at the caretaker for the King Mountain Ranch property with a gun, which was presumably stolen from the ranch's property. The caretaker fired his personal weapon twice into the ground to warn the shooter he was armed after the initial shot was taken.
The caretaker for the ranch did not see who shot at him and could not provide a description of the shooter, according to Grand County Sheriff Rod Johnson.
No injuries were reported in relation to the incident, and no arrests have been reported.
Grand County Sheriff deputies were scouring the area surrounding the ranch on Wednesday in an attempt to locate the unidentified shooter.
