SilverCreek hopes to be annexed into Granby
March 11, 2009
The Inn at SilverCreek is seeking annexation into the town of Granby.
Surrounded by three sides of the town, Inn owners approached the town with their request about two months ago.
The parties are under negotiations and the town attorney had been directed to draft an annexation agreement.
For its sales tax generation, the annexation would be a good benefit to the town, said Granby Town Manager Wally Baird.
The town is looking to annex the business, but the town manager said the town would not benefit by taking over its water system due to potential problems with the system. The hotel, bar, restaurant and business center is an income generator for the SilverCreek Water and Sanitation District.
The annexation could find its way to town planning commission and trustee meetings by next month.
