Sky-Hi News, Middle Park Times win 42 Colorado Press Association awards

Sky-Hi News staff and contributors won a total of 42 awards on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Colorado Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest, including the 2012 General Excellence award for the Sky-Hi News.The General Excellence award is presented to the newspaper judged the best in the state in its circulation class based on points accrued by the publication during the course of the contest.The Sky-Hi News also won Sweepstakes Awards in Photo/Design and Advertising by scoring more points in those categories than any other paper in its circulation class.The Middle Park Times, which accounted for 12 of the 42 awards, won the Photo/Design Sweepstakes Award for Class II weeklies.”These awards are testament to the hard work this small but dedicated staff consistently churns out,” said Drew Munro, editor and general manager of the Sky-Hi News and Middle Park Times. “I feel fortunate to work with them and think they are a great asset for Grand County and our readers and clients.
