Senior Mitch Gardner (center with green and grey hat) pumps up the Varsity boy’s basketball team for their first game against Summit on Thursday, December 1. They ended up losing 83-60, and the C team and JV boy’s teams lost as well. Both the girl’s JV and Varsity teams won their games against Summit.

The Middle Park Panthers boy's and girl's basketball teams are on their way to, hopefully, a successful season.

So far, the girl's Varsity team won their first game against Summit 47-31 and the boy's Varsity team lost their game against Summit 83-60. The girl's Varsity team also had a game against St. Mary's Academy where they lost 44-36, making the team 1 – 1.

The Varsity coach for the girl's team is Mike Reigan, who was the head coach last year, as well. When asked about the team Reigan said,

"The leading scorer for both games has been senior Haley Weimer, but scoring has been well balanced with junior Kiera Barr, junior Bailey Martin, and senior Claire Luque. I am very pleased with the development of the team so

far, and am especially pleased with our defense."

The varsity coach for the boy's team is Jeff Ehlert, who is the head coach for the first time this year. When asked about the team so far Ehlert said, "We don't have a lot of size on the boy's team, but they are working hard and we should hit our stride soon. With our lack of size we will be running to win."
