State track: Day 1 wrap-up

A summary of the action from the first day of the Colorado State High School Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood:

•The Middle Park boys qualified fourth in the preliminary heats for the 3A boys 4×200 relay with a time of 1:31.39 and advance to the final on Friday.

•The Middle Park girls posted the 13th fastest time in their preliminary heat for the 3A girls 4×200 relay, but will not advance to the finals.

•The West Grand boys ran a 1:35.72, which was the 13th fastest in the preliminary heats for the 2A boys 4×200 relay, but will not advance to the finals.

•In the 2A girls 100-meter hurdles West Grand’s Erica Lucas just missed out in qualifying for the finals finishing in 10th place with a 17.26. West Grand’s Chyenne Sims finished in 16th.

•West Grand’s Travis Gore posted the eighth fastest qualifying time in the 2A boys 110-meter high hurdles and advances to the final on Saturday.
