The Town of Winter Park is still without an official town manager.

Currently, the position is being filled by Drew Nelson, who has been designated as interim town manager. Prior to being appointed to that job, he was the town planner.

The Winter Park Town Council has not yet publicly begun a formal search for a replacement, waiting until this year’s budgetary cycle has been completed.

Nelson was made interim town manager after the surprise resignation of Dave Torgler on Monday, Sept. 15. No explanation has been given for Torgler’s resignation as Town Manager other than to say that it was “mutually agreed upon” between the board of trustees and Torgler.

Torgler had served as the Winter Park Town Manager since August 2007.
