The Middle Park boys soccer team fell behind early to 8th-ranked Holy Family on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the 3A playoffs in Broomfield giving up three goals in the first half. The Panthers, seeded 25th, gave a much stronger defensive performance in the second half against a potent Holy Family attack that had been averaging five goals a game during the regular season.

Middle Park was able to get on the scoreboard with a goal from senior Justin Coucke with 12 minutes to go to close the deficit, but conceded a fourth Holy Family goal shortly after that to put the game out of reach.

The West Grand volleyball team was paired with Hayden in the first round of the district playoffs in Hayden on Tuesday evening, a team they had faced twice in the last month, but the third time was not the charm as the Lady Mustangs once again lost to the Tigers 3-1 (25-22, 25-5, 12-25, 25-12).
