Bulls, Boots and BBQ set for Sept. 6 in Granby

The Grand County Rural Health Network presents its 2nd Annual Bulls, Boots, and BBQ fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 6, from 5-10 p.m. at the Inn at SilverCreek Ballroom.

The fundraiser is an “Olde-Fashioned Hoedown to Benefit Our Modern-Day Health Care Pioneers.” The concept is to honor the past, present, and future of health care in Grand County, while raising money for a local nonprofit that improves the future of our health care by educating the community on health issues and ensuring accessibility and efficiency of the healthcare system.

Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased at Winter Park Optical, online at http://www.gcruralhealth.com, or by calling 970-725-3477. Tickets include the barbecue dinner, unlimited mechanical bull riding, olde time photo booth and live music by The Acme Tribute Band. The fundraiser will also have a silent auction, as well as door prizes.



Award for Excellence in Health care



The Grand County Rural Health Network is also honoring a health care professional at the event,. This year’s “Therese McElroy Award for Excellence in Healthcare Service” will be awarded to Mary Jo Hargadine. Mary Jo has worked as a nurse in Grand County for over 20 years. Mary Jo spent several years at Cliffview Assisted Living Center caring for the county’s elderly patients. Mary Jo currently works at Kremmling Memorial Hospital District and has been awarded employee of the year twice. The award will be presented to Mary Jo around 6:50 p.m.
