Bulls, Boots and BBQ supports Rural Health Network, honors longtime Grand County nurse

Sky-Hi News staff

The Grand County Rural Health Network presents its first Bulls, Boots, and BBQ fundraiser this Saturday, Aug. 24. The fundraiser is an “olde-fashioned hoedown to benefit modern-day healthcare pioneers.”

The concept is to honor the past, present, and future of health care in Grand County, while raising money for a local nonprofit that improves the future of our health care by educating the community on health issues and ensuring accessibility and efficiency of the health care system.

Tickets are all inclusive, including: two drink tickets; BBQ dinner; unlimited mechanical bull riding and olde-time photo booth; performance of Doc Susie by Grand County Characters; and live music by Hunker Down.

The fundraiser will also have a live and silent auction, as well as door prizes.

The Grand County Rural Health Network is also honoring a health care professional at the event, keeping with the theme of honoring the past, present and future of health care in Grand County. Therese McElroy will be honored with a lifetime achievement award for 50 years of nursing, most of which has been in Grand County. The award will be presented to Therese around 7:20 p.m.
