What is your day like when working on your art?

My first look in the morning is at the proud Never Summer Mountain Range. Abstract acrylic landscape is my passion as an artist. To capture a sight, the serenity of light, the unspoiled landscape, the ever lasting sky, music at the touch of a brush — these are the thoughts that define my art. I enjoy this process.

As a long time picture framer, I cut my own stretcher bars, stretch my own canvas and prime it. All of my creations are original as are my custom frames. Preparation is paramount but I don’t plan a paintings, I find a view and study it, then I make a sketch. The finished product is done in my home studio, “Telling the Tale of a Wonderful Journey.”

What is the best part of being an artist in Grand County?

As a Colorado native, a long time visitor and now a full-time resident in Grand Lake, I love the people, the views and Rocky Mountain National Park. The landscape and the wide open spaces are truly exceptional. Inspiration is easy to come by here – winter, spring, summer and fall are all awesome.

Every morning I look out the window and know I am home.
