RMRT’s 2014 Youth Theatre registration opens
Rocky Mountain Repertory Youth Theatre Workshop Program is beginning registration. Last year, the Theatre had more than 120 youth in the program on the stage, so be sure to call and register because slots fill up quickly. The registration dates are on a first-come, first-serve basis by phone at 970-627-5087 or 970-627-8173, or in person at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre Office at 404 Vine St. starting at 8 a.m. All the forms needed are provided online at http://www.RockyMountainRep.com. The dates for registration are: Feb. 5, Teen Theatre Academy (13-18 years old); Feb. 6, Youth Theatre Workshop (7-9 years old); Feb. 7, Youth Theatre Production (10-12 years old).
Teen Theatre Academy (13-18 years old)- $260. Director: TBA
This intensive three-week program focuses on developing the craft of a creative artist. We are looking for teens with all talents: musicians, painters, poets, singers, etc. Training in the area of monologues, scene study, audition technique, stage combat, dance, vocal study, and creative writing will be conducted by RMRT professionals. This program will also focus on preparation for high school and college theatre study. The workshop will culminate in three Cabaret-style performances including original material generated by the participants. The workshop dates are July 21 – Aug. 10.
Youth Theatre Workshop (7-9 years old)- $210. Director: Laura Bess Ewing
This two-week workshop is geared toward introducing and practicing the basics of theatre. Learn what it takes to put on a show using Broadway song, dance, lights and music taught by our professionals at RMRT. This workshop is sure to spark an interest in the arts for a lifetime. This workshop is designed to offer age-appropriate vocal, acting and dance coaching and will conclude with three performances of Broadway song and dance. The workshop dates are July 8- July 20.
Youth Theatre Production (10-12 years old)- $235. Director: Laura Bess Ewing
Lights, music, show time! This three week program is devoted to producing a full length theatrical show. Our RMRT professional staff will teach audition techniques, stage blocking, prop and set creation, and performance skills, resulting in three public performances of the production. The production this year is TBA. The workshop dates are July 14- Aug. 3.
