WINTER PARK – Shane Burke, a gifted singer songwriter from Baltimore Md., will be performing at Music On The Mall on Friday, Aug. 14, from 6-8 p.m.

Shane has been writing and performing his own material since the age of 4. Self taught, he plays many instruments including piano, drums, bass, guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and anything else he can get his hands on. Consequently, he has built up quite a catalog of original music, as to be realized in his latest LP titled, “Under the sun”; his second official release since parting ways with international touring band Brickfoot.

Shane’s music can only be described as some sort of common ground between the sweet sacredness of Jeff Buckley and the gritty soul of Otis Redding. Not only has he enjoyed success in the studio, but also on stage – having shared the spotlight with such legends at Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band, Chuck Mangione, and even the legendary Beatle drummer Ringo Starr, who upon hearing Shane’s music became “a fan”. Shane’s sound is ever evolving while still retaining a certain individuality, an admirable trait indeed. What will be next for Shane? Only time will tell, but the future certainly looks bright and his audiences will beam from his light this Friday.

Music On The Mall is a summer concert series held every Friday through Sept. 4 at Cooper Creek Square in downtown Winter Park. The series is free and open to all ages. For more information go to or call 970-726-8891.
