Theatre is Grand Lake crowd-pleaser, study says

GRAND LAKE — The 2013 Economic Impact Study conducted by Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre shows a continuation of positive financial impact to the Grand Lake economy, as evidenced in the original study conducted in 2012.

While attendee spending levels remained consistent with 2012 figures, theatre attendance levels rose by 4 percent, with total attendance at 20,142 patrons for the 2013 season.

The overall Economic Impact that Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre had on the small mountain town of Grand Lake in 2013 was estimated to be $3.3 million. The Economic Significance figure, the inclusive number reflecting all related spending to the Economic Impact, was $6.4 million.

Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is funded by generous donors, helping the theatre meet its general operations budget for 2013.

“It’s gratifying to know that more than 2,000 individuals indicated that Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre was a major motivating factor in their decision to return to Grand Lake in 2013,” said Stephen Litt, a theatre board member.
