The annual fundraising gala, Tops of the Rockies, is set to take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th at the Grand Lake Yacht Club.

This exciting night is sponsored by the Friends of the Grand County Library and features great wines, excellent appetizers and live music in a beautiful setting at the historic Grand Lake Yacht Club, right on the shores of beautiful Grand Lake.

The event features unique, artistic items used to create tabletops that will be put up for live auction during the evening. A silent auction will also be held.

“This year the Friends will also be selling raffle tickets for the Joan Shaw Memorial Quilt which will be on display during this event.” said Connie Graham, Tops coordinator and Grand Lake board member of Friends of the Grand County Library. The Memorial quilt was created by the Grand Quilters in loving memory of Joan Shaw who was one of their members as well as a huge supporter of the library.

A highlight of the evening will be live music provided by local favorites Roger Shaw and Sara Lomax.

Reservations are $55 in advance and $65 at the door. They can be made by going to the Friends website,, or by inquiring at the Juniper Library. The Friends of the Grand County Library, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Its current mission is to raise funds to help pay for children’s programs at all Grand County libraries.

“We are especially grateful to the Grand Lake Yacht Club, as always, for donating the use of this iconic location for this important fundraiser,” Graham said. “This is a wonderful evening you won’t want to miss. We hope to see you there!”
