Steve Foltz to play in WP
February 10, 2017
Steve Foltz of the band Trout Steak Revival and Andy Straus and The Real McCoy will play Hideaway Park Brewery in Winter Park on Monday, Feb. 13 from 5-8 p.m.
Foltz plays mandolin and guitar for Trout Steak Revival. He will be joining forces with Straus and The Real McCoy for their first gig together.
Straus met Foltz during a trip to Bozeman, Montana where he purchased a new guitar that was originally being constructed for musician Shooter Jennings. The guitar was never sold to Jennings, and Straus picked it up after some custom modification work. During the trip he began fishing with Foltz and the two joined forced to occasionally play together.
Straus and McCoy are some of Grand County's few full-time musicians. Straus also plays in the well-known local band Hunker Down, who will be playing at the Springtopia Concert at Winter Park Resort on April 22.
Straus and McCoy play at Hideaway Park Brewery every Monday night and several other local bars throughout the week. Straus says his music takes up a significant amount of his time, and he is thankful to be able to support himself off his performances. Straus and his bands play throughout Grand County and the State of Colorado, and have recently started getting gigs outside of the state.
Straus has lived in Fraser for 14 years and has developed a significant following for his bluegrass-style music.
Music Monday night will feature original songs by Foltz, and new material from Straus and McCoy.
