Letter: Fraser Valley Parkway will not solve traffic issues
news@skyhinews.com
Missing from your coverage of the Fraser Valley Parkway is its impact on the proposed Red Hawk Ranch in Tabernash. The 200-home development is planned to be situated along the proposed parkway and is dependent upon the road being built at taxpayer expense.
County officials correctly lament the need to provide solutions to traffic issues in Grand County. However, building the northern sector of the Fraser Valley Parkway (from Tabernash to Fraser) will, in essence, make Red Hawk Ranch possible, creating even more traffic, congestion, and pollution.
The northern end of the Fraser Valley Parkway will not solve traffic issues. Rather, it will be an invitation for developers to create more homes. If Grand County builds it, they will come.
