Letter: Local knowledge proves state’s COVID death count is unreliable
Grand County Coroner Brenda Bock should be commended for challenging the state for listing of a local murder-suicide as two COVID deaths. The state’s response citing “standard procedure” shows that this is not an isolated example of human error. It is an example of questionable guidelines.
In other words, the statistics appear to be manipulated for a predetermined goal. Manipulated statistics are not reliable statistics. It is past time for Colorado (and Grand County) to set aside fear of COVID as the motivation for all decisions and let the citizens get back on track.
