What do the newly renovated Grand Lake Yacht Club, the Camper Hub at YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch and the new East Grand fire station have in common? Each of these community buildings was designed by MA Studios. 

Scott Munn founded MA Studios, a Granby-based architectural firm. His wife, Tonya Munn, is the company’s administrative assistant and marketer. In 2022, the company rebranded itself from Munn Architecture to MA Studios. 

The rebranding showcases that the company’s success is not just due to the Munn family but the team as a whole. Five talented architects and designers work at MA Studios, making beautiful buildings a reality. 

Community members voted MA Studios as the Best Architecture Firm in Grand County for the 2024 Best of Grand contest.  

“Foremost, we love Grand County,” Tonya Munn said. “If we can’t please our neighbors, then how will our clients learn to trust us? We aim to lead with integrity on all projects, not just for our clients, but industry partners with whom we work, such as area planners, subcontractors, town clerks and government boards.” 

MA Studios designs a variety of projects, from custom single-family homes to schools and other buildings that benefit the community.

“Planning and constructing any structure involves the work and time of many community members, and respect among all is integral to the process,” Tonya Munn said. 

Notably, MA Studios designed the new fire station for East Grand Fire Protection District, which recently opened in Winter Park. It also serves as a hub for East Grand Fire.

MA Studios also designed Grand County’s first public building to achieve LEED certification, a massive step forward in sustainable architecture for the area. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and the certification recognizes environmentally friendly design, such as lower energy use and minimal construction waste.
