2024 Grand County live election results: Republican candidates win both commissioner seats

Wednesday, Nov. 6
10:40 a.m. — Unofficial results from the Grand County Clerk and Recorder still show both Republican candidates in the lead for the county commissioner races. For District 1 Ed Raegner has 5,472 votes and Meara McQuain has 4,007 votes. In the District 2 race Merrit Linke has 5,378 votes and Shanna Ganne has 4,023 votes.
10 a.m. —Local election officials have counted 10,085 ballots.
1 a.m. — There are still ballots left to be counted, and this is the last update for the night. Check back tomorrow for final unofficial results.
Midnight — More ballots are expected to be counted tonight.
Tuesday, Nov. 5
10:50 p.m. — Grand County Clerk Jolene Linke estimates that about 10,000 total ballots were cast in Grand County and there are about 900 ballots left to count. In the 2020 presidential election Grand County voters cast 10,484 ballots, which was a voter turnout of 90.31%.
10:30 p.m. — Grand County has counted 8,300 ballots and has a total of 14,035 registered voters, which includes 1,655 inactive voters.
9:42 p.m. — In the District 2 county commissioner race, Merrit Linke still leads with 4,165 votes and Shanna Ganne with 3,166 votes.
9:40 p.m. — Unofficial results in the Grand County District 1 commissioner race show Ed Raegner in the lead with 4,175 votes and Meara McQuain with 3,201 votes.
9:30 p.m. — The Grand County Clerk and Recorder is reporting that 7,800 ballots were counted, which is just shy of 64% voter turnout.
8:55 p.m. – Colorado House Speaker Julie McCluskie wins reelection to final term in House District 13 race
8:30 p.m. — In the Granby mayoral race, candidate Josh Hardy is leading the race by 68.21% of the vote. Jimmy Strickland has 31.79% of the vote. 755 ballots have been cast. In the Granby town board race, incumbents Rebecca Quesada (23.03%) and Chris Michalowski (19.10%) are leading the race, with James Easley (18.85%) close behind. Three seats are up for election.
A ballot measure to move the town of Fraser’s regular elections passed, according to unofficial results. This new date will correspond with the state’s general election day (the Tuesday after the first Monday of November), instead of the first Tuesday in April. 267 votes (70.63%) were counted for Ballot Issue 2A, with 111 (29.37%) no votes.
8:10 p.m. — Hot Sulphur Springs Ballot Issue 2C requesting a lodging tax has 150 yes votes and 142 no votes.
8 p.m. — The Hot Sulphur Springs Ballot Issue 2B requesting a construction use tax has 238 no votes and 53 yes votes.
7:45 p.m. — There are 4,068 yes votes and 2,740 no votes for Grand County Ballot Issue 1A, which asks voters for a .2% lodging tax increase.
7:30 p.m. — Unofficial Grand County election results show commissioner candidate for District 1, Ed Raegner, leading with about 56% of the vote. Incumbent Merrit Linke is leading in District 2 with approximately 56% of the vote.
7:20 p.m. — Preliminary results show Joe Neguse winning the Colorado 2nd Congressional District with over 60 % of the vote compared to Marshall Dawson’s 37%. Less than 10% of the counties in the district are reporting.
6 p.m. — Polls will close in one hour.
