Colorado’s State Wrestling Championships were held last week and four local Grand County boys were down in Denver competing as part of the state’s top athletes on the mat.

West Grand High School wrestler Noah Schroeder, a senior competing at the 195 pound weight class, took home a sixth place finish at state.

Middle Park High School sent three young men to state, Blake Weimer, Dylan Koss and Tel Linke. Weimer, a senior wrestled at 132 pounds. Kloss, a junior wrestled at 160 pounds, and Linke, also a junior, wrestled in the heavyweight division. All three East Grand wrestlers lost their first two matches of the double-elimination tournament and did not formally place.
