Accidents show need to improve safety on stretch of road near Granby
November 12, 2008
To the Editor:
I am one of those motorists who travels the highway from Hot Sulphur Springs to Winter Park every day. I just experienced a rollover accident in front of me and while waiting for the ambulance for this person, two other motorists spun out and went into the ditch.
One lady had hit a telephone pole and was seriously injured. No airbag.
I have been driving this stretch of highway for 12 years, and it always is bad here. Don’t you think something can be done? Even some sand. Maybe some mag (magnesium chloride).
This morning I saw no sand trucks and then on Monday when the roads were wet they were putting down sand. I know we all have to slow down in these conditions, but where are the sand trucks?
