Amy Kaplanis etc.- Community turned out for Thanksgiving dinner
Brickhouse 40 and Country Ace Hardware would like to thank all who attended and helped out with the first Grand County Community Thanksgiving Dinner. As a family we were not sure what to expect but were overwhelmed by the support of the community for this event. We served over 50 dinners on Thanksgiving and had probably close to that in volunteers. It was a fantastic time for the community to get together and celebrate Thanksgiving as it was meant to be celebrated. In particular we’d like to thank the following folks who made this happen: Taunia Shipman, Rachael Eichhorn, Kert Eichhorn, Jason Keen, Rachael Beickman, Chip Travelute, Ragnard Stoddard, James Chamberlin, Joan Van de Heiden, Sheryl Shushan, Travis Minear and Patrick Green. These people all spent a lot of personal hours helping us to plan, get the word out or prepare and serve the dinner. Thank you. We’d also like to thank the following members of the community and our vendors at Ace who stepped forward and supported us through generous donations and contributions: . We had people dropping off checks, turkeys, pies and brownies: R&J Liquors, Blue Water Bakery, Showboat Catering, Lou and Faye Arnold, Greg and Sharon Finch, the Mayley family, Master Sales/Cal Lighting, Weber Grills, Scotts and Toysmith. And finally, to all the folks who showed up on Thanksgiving Day to help out however was needed. Thank you so much for sharing your Thanksgiving with us. To everyone in our community – please save the date next year. We plan on doing this again and would like to see anyone and everyone in the Community stop by. Even if you have other plans for dinner we’d love to have everyone at least swing by, say hello and enjoy what a great community of people we have.Thank you.Amy and Dino KaplanisTom and Kathy McConathyBrickhouse 40 and Country Ace Hardware
