An opportunity to adopt Hi Lonesome Trail

Hi Lonesome is a stunning trail that has received a lot of love over the years. It is an older trail, however, and could use a larger group to help take care of its needs in the years to come.

A combination of wilderness and recreation area, including swamps, trees, and streams, Hi Lonesome is sure to fulfill one’s longing for nature.

An active group willing to spend a weekend each year including an overnight would be a good fit for this trail. Hi Lonesome needs some structural, tree, and erosion work to get it back into tip top shape.

If you are interested in adopting this trail, or any other un-adopted trail, email Andy at the U.S. Forest Service at ABorek@Fs.Fed.Us or call Headwaters Trails Alliance, 970-726-1013.
