Anglers club in Grand County seeks gear for kids’ presents

Colorado Headwaters Anglers Club is hosting a Second Annual Kids Fishing Rod Drive. Look for the big boxes at City Market, Country Ace Hardware in Granby, and Budget Tackle to drop off used or new fishing gear by Dec. 15.

Colorado Headwaters Anglers will refurbish donated rods and reels. Budget Tackle will re-string reels with new line.

Case McCrea is the founder of CHA and is organizing the Fishing Rod Drive. McCrea says they still need spin-cast, fly rods, bait-cast, ice fishing rods, tackle, and tackle boxes. Mountain Family Center will distribute the gear to families after Dec. 15.

The club is open to all anglers, beginners and experienced, and all disciplines. Part of the organization’s mission is to introduce children to fishing and to promote the tradition of fishing. Colorado Headwaters Anglers Club has 20 members. For more information call Case McCrea 970-509-9303.
