4 Bar 4 property officially owned by Historic Fraser
August 12, 2016
In culmination of an effort that has been in process nearly a year, the Stagecoach Meadows homeowners Board and the Board of Historic Fraser, Inc. have completed the transfer of the 4 Bar 4 historic buildings and property to Historic Fraser, Inc (HFI).
"We are happy to have this transfer complete. It's what our homeowners want and it's appropriate so that the 4 Bar 4 can be preserved as an historic landmark." states Stagecoach Meadows Homeowners Association Board President, Chris Koerner.
The property transfer was shepherded through the legal process for HFI by Greg Braden, HFI's Vice President, and Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a prominent law firm in Denver, who handled the transaction for HFI pro bono.
"They were true partners in every sense of the word and diligent in their commitment to mutual understanding and success" states Ronda Dorchester, HFI's President.
Historic Fraser's sole project at his time is to restore the 4 Bar 4 stagecoach hotel and barn to their original appearance and make the site a permanent historic landmark. A recent fundraiser attended by descendants of homesteaders Dick and Jessie McQueary was a resounding success. People from around the county and several from out of state attended the BBQ on site at the Hay Barn.
"We raised as many friends as funds!" states Dorchester. "It's so important to know we have the community behind us and that it matters for now and for the future."
Historic Fraser is currently preparing an application for a grant from the State Historical Fund in October. Simultaneously, the preservation process has begun on the Ford Barn with preservable materials being labeled and stored for re-use in the restoration to begin next summer.
