Heritage Coalition launches membership drive

The Heritage Coalition of Grand County is holding a kick-off party at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the Kremmling Extension Hall. Learn about an important effort that, for the first time, brings together cultural and historical entities in Grand County, and join now to become a supporting member of the Heritage Coalition.

The purpose of the Heritage Coalition of Grand County is to “promote History, Culture and Heritage Tourism of Grand County through education and collaboration with history and tourism-based organizations.”

Members of the group include Grand County Characters, Grand County Historical Association, Grand Lake Area Historical Society, Grand County Historic Preservation Board, Historic Fraser, Moffat Road Railroad Museum, Trail River Ranch and the Grand County Tourism Board.

For the past several years, these organizations have gathered to share information on events, address common challenges, and create meaningful collaborations. Among the new initiatives launching in the spring and summer are an updated website, http://www.GrandCountyHistory.org, Heritage Walking Tours for each community, a county-wide Then and Now Photography Exhibit, and Heritage Coalition Master Membership.

The Heritage Coalition has developed a Master Membership for those interested in supporting all aspects of heritage programs, education and preservation in Grand County. The $175 annual membership fee includes all the benefits and privileges for the above organizations. Founding members will receive their choice of a GCHA Journal as a special bonus. Benefits include free museum admissions, invitations and discounts to all programs and events, newsletters from each organization, private exhibit previews, and the knowledge that your membership supports the heritage of Grand County.

All cultural and history related entities are invited to join this group as they explore new and exciting ways to promote the unique heritage of Grand County. Contact GCHA, 970-725-3939 or 970-726-5488, or any Grand County museum for membership information.
