New and Improved Completely Fit Classes in GranbyIf you want to get in or stay in shape this winter, the Granby Recreation Department has a class for you. We are offering a variety of completely fit classes to keep those pounds off. Classes include: Strength, Core and More, Fit Camp, Bootylicious Cardio, Zumba, and Sensible Strength. Classes are ongoing and are held on Mondays at 4:45 PM, Tuesdays at 6:00 AM, and 5:30 PM, Wednesdays at 6:15 AM and 4:45 PM, Thursdays at 6:00 AM, 8:00 AM, and 5:30 PM, and Fridays at 6:15 AM. All classes are held at the Granby Community Building and Granby Elementary School. The cost is $40 for an 8 punch card, or $6 drop in fee. For more information or class details, please call the Granby Recreation Department (887-3961) or just show up for a class.Ride to teen night offered by Granby Rec.If you’re in 6th grade or higher, join the Granby Recreation Department for a ride to Teen Night at Fraser’s Grand Park Recreation Center on Thursday, January 17! We’ll meet at the Granby Soccer Dome at 8:00 PM before heading to the Rec. Center for a wild time. Pick up will be at 11:00 PM at the Dome (Rec. Center event is from 8:30 – 10:30). The cost is $10 per child and includes transportation and entry to the Rec. Center. Call the Granby Rec. Dept. today at 887-3961 to sign up. Pre-registration is required.Kids Quilting Classes Offered in GranbyKids ages 9 & up, join instructor Lorene Linke from the Fabric Nook to learn to quilt! Classes will cover: understanding your machine, materials for patterns, tools for cutting quilt pieces, sewing squares and borders, and more! Participants will make a placemat or table runner. Bring your own machine (if you have one). Classes will be held on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month, beginning January 17 through March 28, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Fabric Nook in Granby. Cost is $60 plus materials for projects, and pre-registration is required by January 7. For more information or to register, please call the Granby Recreation Department at 887-3961.Family Dodgeball Night January 16 in GranbyBring the whole family out on Wednesday, January 16 for a night of exercise and wild fun! The Granby Recreation Department is sponsoring a Family Dodgeball Night from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the Granby Elementary School. No pre-registration is required for this free event, just show up with your sneakers. Parents are asked to attend with their children (Kindergarten and up).
