Apologies and future plans concerning concert cancellation

The Grand County Concert Series board would like to apologize to all concerned for the cancellation of the Arundo Winds concert last Friday.

We did everything that we could think of to spread the word once the decision to cancel was made about 1 p.m. on Friday. Let me explain what we did so that our concert goers will know where to check if conditions are questionable another time. If you have other ideas for quick communication, send them to Roger Shaw at shawrw@rkymtnhi.com.

1. We emailed or called all holders of 2007-08 memberships. More on this

2. We put the notice on our Web site: http://www.grand-countyconcertseries.org.

Please note the one dash therein.

3. We asked for and received great cooperation from the newspapers in

putting the notice on their Web site: http://www.skyhidailynews.com.

4. We called the radio station KRKY, who said they would get it on the air.

The e-mails to membership holders went out about 1:30 p.m. Friday. We have reports of some folks receiving them about that time but others who did not get the

message until about 8 p.m. If you were among the later group, please

send me an e-mail so that we can try to figure out where in the system

that delay happened and, hopefully, avoid it next time. We would also be

happy to have e-mail addresses from more of you, in case this ever

happens again.

Once again, our apologies. We’re happy to report that the Arundo Winds

are safe and well in Boulder and that we have arranged a tentative new

date for their concert on May 16, 2008.
