Aunt charged in drowning of nephew

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) – A Longmont woman faces a charge of fatal child abuse and cocaine possession after her 10-month-old nephew drowned in a bathtub.

Twenty-seven-year-old Andromeda Ann Sosa began caring for Jeremiah Sosa after his parents began serving prison sentences. Sosa called police Feb. 25 after finding Jeremiah underwater and unresponsive. She had left him alone in the bathtub to answer the phone.

Authorities filed charges Thursday. A court hearing is scheduled April 26.
