Barbara Mitchell: Brave firefighters

Our prayers and thanks to the brave firefighters in this county who fought the stubborn fire that destroyed the Parshall General Store on Sunday (Feb. 12). They were on the job for close the 12 hours to make sure it was completely out.

These are our friends and neighbors who give their time to protect us all. Our prayers and condolences to the Hammer children for the loss of their property and personal items they had not yet been able to take out of the building following the death of their mother.

And thanks to the caring friends who called and stopped by to check on George and me to see that we were OK: Carolyn and Bill Dixon, Tim Nicklas, Ward Briggs, Larry Gross, Phyl Broady and Virginia Taussig. It was a nervous time for us to be so close to the fire and we are thankful for such thoughtfulness. May God Bless you all.
