Bear killed after repeatedly breaking into Manitou Springs house

COLORADO SPRING, Colo. (AP) – Wildlife officials killed a 375-pound black bear after the animal repeatedly broke into a small home in Manitou Springs.
Department of Wildlife spokesman Michael Seraphin says the bear more than once went through a window of the apartment and went back outside after finding food. No one was home at the time.
Officials tranquilized the bear at the scene and later euthanized it.
Seraphin says relocating the bear was not an option. The bear’s odd behavior of repeatedly going into the apartment indicated it would have been a threat to the community.
