Bear pays visit to Grand Lake store

An unusually flocculent patron surprised two employees at Spirit Lake Traders in Grand Lake on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Around noon, a black bear casually walked into the store’s front door, said the store’s owner, Doc.

“He just walked in there and stood up and turned and went back out,” he said.

There was no damage to the store, though Doc said the two employees were a bit frightened.

“The last I heard the game warden came in later, and he was somewhere down around the lake,” Doc said.

The bear did not make any purchases, according to a press release.
