‘Bert and Ernie’ benefit for Fraser Creative Learning Center defines Community
September 17, 2009
To the Editor:
As the mornings grow crisp and the aspen leaves turn, we all know that “Bert and Ernie” weather is upon us. It is with enormous gratitude that I wish to thank Pole Creek Golf Course and its wonderful staff, Larry, Mary, JT and Nigel, et. al. for once again embracing our annual golf tournament for the Fraser Creative Learning Center.
This benefit is our largest fundraiser of the year and in economic times when people have so many choices of which charitable event to spend dollars on, it is with pride and admiration that I want to thank our returning golfers, new Pole Creek resident golfers, long time locals and those from out of town for coming out to this lovely venue and bringing together the true community spirit behind our pre-school.
The FCLC board of Directors, Kris Sornson, Cindy Coach, Lori Scott, Heather Boomer, Mindy O’Neil and Kim Jensen went beyond the call of duty paying attention to detail and fine tuning the affair. Past members Jimmy Larhman, Jen Emery and Michelle Lawrence offered a flawless safety net to the day. Megan Ledin coordinated our hats and several prizes.
FCLC staff Sally Harrison, Meredith Cameron and Claire Bogart stepped in wherever they were needed with boundless energy and enthusiasm.
With heartfelt gratitude, I want to thank Michelle DeFrange, the winner of our 50/50 contest, for donating 100 percent of her winnings back to the Learning Center.
The Bert and Ernie Golf Classic is truly the sense of community which is the glue that holds us all together.
