The Colorado Department of Transportation closed Berthoud Pass around 1:15 p.m. on Monday due to adverse conditions and high avalanche potential. CDOT reported the pass will remain closed overnight at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

“[Closing the pass] is more of a safety precaution, especially because of the high avalanche potential,” said Bob Wilson, a spokesperson for CDOT.
