Berthoud Pass reopens after avalanche mitigation work

TUESDAY, JAN. 14 ­— U.S. Highway 40 was reopened after Colorado Department of Transportation Crews cleared snow from the roadway following avalanche mitigation work earlier Tuesday morning.

TUESDAY, JAN. 14 — U.S. Highway 40 over Berthoud Pass will be closed for three or more hours, starting at around 8 a.m., due to Colorado Department of Transportation crews working to clear the roadway of snow after completing avalanche control work on the highway.

The avalanche control work was completed by CDOT on the Stanley slide path on the east side of Berthoud Pass early Tuesday morning.
