Best of Grand ballot closes to nominations July 4
Nominations for the Best of Grand contest are open through July 4 at SkyHiNews.com/best. We automatically nominated all of last year’s eligible nominees, with a few exceptions. The following categories will not be pre-nominated:
- Categories that require an individual’s name, such as Artist, Band/Musician, Chef, Doctor, Insurance Agent, Lawyer, Mr. Grand County, Ms. Grand County, Professional Photographer, Server and Teacher.
- Categories where nominees are likely to change from year to year, such as New Business.
- Categories that are new, including Auto Detailing, Bartender, Boot Fitting Company, Budtender, Carwash, Cocktail, Cocktail Menu, Community Leader, Computer Retail & Repair Company, Day Spa, Doughnuts, Financial Planner, Flooring Company, Home Inspection Company, Horseback Riding Company, Laundry Service, Late-Night Scene , Locally Brewed Beer, Longstanding Business, Mortgage Broker, Real Estate Team, Tile Installation Company, Trash Service/Waste Removal, Wedding Cakes & Desserts, Wedding Caterer & Bar Services, Wedding Ceremony Site, Wedding Decor Rentals, Wedding Florist, Wedding Guest Accommodations, Wedding Hair & Makeup, Wedding Photographer, Wedding Planning & Design, Wedding Rehearsal & Shower Venue, Wedding Stationary & Calligraphy, Wedding Transportation and Wedding Videographer.
Participants can make an unlimited number of nominations during the nomination period. Each nomination will be vetted for accuracy, including whether the business, organization or person is based in Grand County and whether the nominee is an appropriate fit for the category.
To ensure the contest remains competitive, categories with fewer than five nominees will be removed from the contest before voting begins July 18.
