Bohlender – Doctor will miss serving Grand County
To the Editor:
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I write this letter. The dissolution of Granby Medical Center and my role in health care in Grand County have left me with much grief. However, I do want to let all my patients and their families know that it has been a great honor to be your physician for the past 20 years here in Granby.
I have made so many wonderful friends during my time here that it is going to be heartbreaking for me not to you all on a regular basis. We have become a family here at GMC, and that includes all of our patients. It is difficult to say good-bye to the people I become so close to during all these years. For some of you, I began seeing you and now I see your children and/or grandchildren. I feel honored and highly complimented by your loyalty and support for so long.
We have all been through so many of life’s joys and heartaches together. From the births of our children to the passing of some of our most beloved family members, I have found being involved in the lives of the people of Grand County fulfilling and it has allowed me to grow as a person and physician. I thank you for letting me be part of your lives.
Wherever I go and wherever I practice medicine, I will always remember with love and happiness my days here in the Fraser Valley. I will so greatly miss each and every one of you. I ask for your thoughts and prayers as my family transitions into the next location where we will settle. As of now, it is unclear where we will relocate to, but I will carry the memories of GMC with me and always speak warmly of all my patients.
As much as I would love to stay in Grand County and continue to serve the community here, changes have occurred that require that I move on to another place. I wish you all health, happiness and all the best that life has to offer. Thank you again for the privilege of serving you.
Tim Bohlender, MD
