WINTER PARK – Is there a new bowling alley in the town of Winter Park? There’s talk about a new gas station, but a bowling alley too? One might have pondered these questions if they happened to have driven by the Clock Tower in downtown Winter Park last week. Turns out it was the Allegiant Management staff enjoying the festivities at their company holiday party.

After talking to the bowlers, turns out it is much harder to do than regular bowling. Trying to utilize any bowling technique with an odd-shaped bowling ball that is really a frozen 12 pound turkey, was

a challenge. Staying warm was another factor that determined one’s performance. Those who came from their day off skiing or riding seemed to fair better.

The results: Congratulations to Tammy Bleier from the maintenance department, who holds the honor of Top Bowler hands down, with her two strikes to start the game. Nancy Schult, the Assistant Accounting Manager, and Tim Hartmann, one of the owners of Allegiant Management, had to have a “bowl-off” for second place as the pins became tougher to see in the evening light, with Tim winning by a slim margin. All in all, the staff and their families appeared to be having a great time turkey bowling. Maybe they just started a new, unique holiday tradition in the valley. Any challengers?
