Boyz II Men, Dave Koz announced as Jazzfest 2019 headliners

Boyz II Men, an R&B group popular for their a capella harmonies, will headline the 2019 Jazz Festival.

The Winter Park Fraser Chamber of Commerce announced Boyz II Men and Dave Koz as the headliners for next year’s Jazz Festival at the Colorado Unfiltered event Thursday evening.

Dave Koz, a smooth jazz saxophonist, is returning to the Jazz Festival stage as a long-time favorite and Boyz II Men, a R&B group, will grace the stage for the first time next summer.

“We think that following some good R&B stuff that’s been done in the past, we think they’re going to be a big hit,” said executive director of the chamber Catherine Ross. “We’re excited to have them here in Winter Park.”

Tickets will go on sale in December for the holidays, but a full lineup hasn’t yet been announced.

Ross said last year’s Jazz Festival was very successful and believes the event continues to see strong talent each year. Last summer, the chamber hosted over 40 events and generated around $10 million in revenue.

“In general, I just think we’ve upped the talent each year as much as we can and that makes our audience happy,” Ross said. “We also try to bring back some favorites each year so we try to mix people we haven’t had on the stage before along with favorites. (…) The key to success is listening to our audience.”

The chamber will also be bringing back the Country in the Park event, which debuted this summer, and hosting some new bike events.
