UPDATED: Old Park, Gore Lakes neighborhoods evacuated; Silver Creek Fire now at over 10,000 acres

The area of evacuation ordered Friday due to the Silver Creek Fire is highlighted in yellow.

UPDATED AT 9:30 P.M.: Highway 134 is now closed. Potential U.S. Highway 40 closure is dependent on what the smoke does and how it would affect visibility.

The fire is now three to five miles from Lake Agnes Community.

About 200 homes have been evacuated.

Fire is at 10,425 acres as of Friday night. 53,000 gallons of slurry was dropped Friday.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued just before 5 p.m. Friday as the Silver Creek Fire continued its third day of increased activity.

An evacuation is in place for all of Old Park and Gore Lakes due to the increase in fire activity and a change of winds Friday afternoon.

According to officials, Highway 134 will not close until 7 p.m. Friday so residents are able to gather more of their belongings. Residents of Old Park and Gore Lakes are expected to have left their homes by 9 p.m.

A community briefing is scheduled for 9 p.m. at the West Grand High School auditorium, located at 208 12th St. in Kremmling.

The Kremmling Fairgrounds is currently taking in larger vehicles trailers and will be able to accept a small number of animals initially, according to officials. If bringing animals to the fairgrounds, officials are asking you enter on 10th and Railroad Street due to the Type 2 management team brining in equipment. The Type 2 team will take over operations beginning at 8 p.m. Friday.
