Brewery opens new Grand Lake location
Sky-Hi News Intern
Karen and Richard Wood, owners of Grand Lake Brewing Co., Grand Lake, plan to open a second brewery early this summer.
Although the Woods plan to continue to offer their signature brews and pizzas at their downtown Grand Lake location through October, they expect to open the new Grand Lake Brewing Tap House by June 6.
The Tap House will be located at Soda Springs Ranch in the building currently occupied by Caroline’s Cuisine. Chef Jean Claude Cavalera is leaving after nearly twenty years to pursue a career as a consultant for Warwick Denver Hotel (see related story).
The Tap House will offer an expanded pub menu, but fans of Cavalera’s gourmet fare need not fear the loss of their favorite dishes, they said; the “moderate, mainstream menu will introduce game items such as elk and buffalo, but it will also retain some of Jean Claude’s high-end recipes,” said Karen Wood.
Brewers are also eager to introduce the Brewing Co.’s barley and hops to the Lake Granby area. “We are adding a new draft system and we’ve been approved for a temporary liquor license, so customers can expect to see the familiar ales at the new location.”
A soft opening party with a special menu is in the works for the first week of June.
