Broncos legend John Elway turns 50

DENVER (AP) – Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway is turning 50, and he says he still has a long list of things he wants to accomplish.

Elway, who led the Denver Broncos to two Super Bowl victories, turns 50 on Monday.

He tells The Denver Post he wants to play the bad guy in a cowboy movie, see all four of his children graduate from college and get more involved with the Broncos, among other things.

He’s agreed to help the Broncos market their Oct. 31 game against the San Francisco 49ers in London and to attend some practices.

Elway, a Republican, says he was approached about running for Colorado governor but decided he can get more done behind the scenes. He says he’s been turned off by what’s happening in government now.
