The owner of a newly approved marijuana shop in Fraser says he has plans to purchase the Alco Shopping Center.
Craig Clark, a Denver-based attorney, revealed his plans at the Fraser Board of Trustee’s Dec. 4 meeting, during discussions surrounding a retail marijuana license for his business, Growhouse Fraser LLC.
Clark told the Sky-Hi News that his LLC, Fraser Valley Shopping Center, put in an offer to the center’s current owner, Winter Boat LLC, several months ago.
However, the bankruptcy and imminent closure of the Alco Store made financing difficult, Clark said.
Currently, Clark said he hopes to close on the property in late 2015.
In the meantime, Clark said he’s received some interest in the space currently occupied by Alco.
“We’ve shown it to two large tenants that would be significant improvements over Alco,” Clark said.
Clark declined to identify the tenants on the record.
Clark said he anticipated the space to be filled before he closes on the property, with a new tenant entering into a lease in early 2015 and opening some time next summer.
In addition to owning Growhouse Fraser LLC, Clark is the owner of online bedding retailer pillows.com.
