A candidate forum for those running for the Granby Board of Trustees is being planned.

The forum will be sponsored by Granby Ranch and moderated by Patrick Brower, Facilitator with the Grand Enterprise Initiative. The forum will be held on Wednesday March 2 starting at 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of the base lodge of Ski Granby Ranch.

The format for the forum will feature opening statements from each of the candidates. Each candidate will be given the same amount of time for opening statements and candidates will present themselves in a randomly selected order.

As spectators enter the forum they will be provided with slips of paper to write questions for the candidates. Brower will compile the provided questions and query the candidates with general questions based on those provided by the audience.

The order of response for the candidates will be random and controlled for time length. At the end of the forum candidates will be given a chance to provide a closing statement, with the order selected at random and each candidate receiving the same amount of time.

Granby’s municipal election is scheduled for Tuesday April 5 and is a mail-in ballot only election. Granby will elect a new mayor and four trustees to the Town Board. There are three candidates running for one mayor seat and six candidates running for trustee seats.
