Candidate in Grand Junction speech must have been running for tooth fairy

To the Editor:

How appropriate that your paper would feature a picture of a vice presidential candidate backed by the alcoholic son of a womanizing country singer, with the appropriate banner “Country First” on the podium.

What it really should say is, “We messed up the rest of the country first, and now we are out to drill and mine the western States.”

The surprising thing is that the candidate seems to be running for tooth fairy. Only a child would believe at this juncture that a tax break can be provided for everyone.

Of course, when you are governor of the socialist state of Alaska, where oil revenue from our national resource treasury is taxed to give every citizen ” including those begotten out of wedlock to hockey groupies ” an annual stipend, this all seems possible.

And, it was good to see that Bocephus was wearing a John Elway retro jersey. Hank Jr. probably is still not aware that Elway has retired. If he had been watching the Broncos vs. New England flop Monday night, it would have been evident.

So thanks to the Ski-Hi for assuring us of tax relief for every person, a balanced budget and strong economy.

Now if I can just find my dentures to put under the pillow.
