Carmichael heads back to court

Elizabeth Carmichael, who stands accused of stealing more than $451,000 from Bear Mountain Ranch in western Grand County, will appear before Judge Mary Hoak in District Court next Wednesday, May 27.

Carmichael is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing starting at 10 a.m. The former Bear Mountain Ranch employee turned herself into authorities on Jan. 17. An arrest warrant was issued for her on Jan. 7.

While employed by Bear Mountain Ranch Carmichael worked as a bookkeeper and manager and was involved in a related business called Bear Mountain Bison. According to the affidavit for her arrest warrant Carmichael was fired by Bear Mountain Ranch in 2012 after her employers suspected she had stolen from the business between 2009 and 2012.



Carmichael previously appeared in court in Grand County on March 2 for a Hearing on Advisement.
