Carter Sampson bringing powerful vocals to Cooper Creek
WINTER PARK — Carter Sampson, an Oklahoma City-based singer-songwriter will bring powerful vocals and a compelling performance that is rich in lyrics and tone to the Cooper Creek stage Friday.
Her journey as a naturally independent, free-spirited musician has seemed almost predestined at times. At age 15, she began experimenting with sound to pass the time; now her creativity has matured into the dedicated and passionate performance that makes her a favorite female vocalist.
Sampson is blessed by a musical family legacy that includes talents like Roy Orbison. She tours nationally and internationally playing 200-plus shows a year both solo and with her band, winning 1st place in the Chris Austin Song Contest at Merlefest and fourth place in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest in 2015.
Sampson has released four studio albums including her newest release Wilder Side recorded with Travis Linville in Norman, Okla.
Music On The Square is a summer concert series held every Friday through Aug. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Cooper Creek Square in downtown Winter Park. The series is free and open to all ages.
